Microsoft OneNote Cookbook

Have you heard of a software called Microsoft OneNote? If you haven't, let me tell you about it. Basically,  it's an electronic binder. Just like a normal binder, it has divider tabs and pages go under each tab. This software is really helpful when you're trying to organize papers.
My family has TONS of recipes, and they were all stuffed into one of our kitchen drawers. It was really hard to find recipes, and we were running out of room in the drawer. I came up with a simple solution: I collected all of our recipes, and using OneNote, I created a cookbook. Microsoft OneNote has a 'search' option, so you can find the recipe you need quickly, which is a lot easier  than searching through piles of paper. Here's how you can do it:

Create Your Own Font!

I was really bored the other day, so I started surfing the web. I found a video that explained how to create your own font. I wanted to, but figured that most websites would charge you to use their software. I Googled "Free font creator" and was very excited about what I found.
When you use Microsoft Word, you have tons of fonts to choose from: Times New Roman, Comic Sans MS, Arial, etc. Each font gives your document a different feel: formal, casual, cute, and so on. These fonts are all great, but have you ever thought about having your own personal font? MyScriptFont.com makes this possible.
It only takes minutes to create your own font. You just download and print the template, fill it out as directed, and scan it back in. Then, upload it to the website, name it, and in less than two minutes your font will be ready! Installation is different for each operating system, so follow the directions on the "About" page if you are having problems.
I used my own handwriting, but you can do whatever you want. The possibilities are endless! So what are your waiting for? To get started, go to:

Transitions Lenses

I wear prescription eyeglasses, and a week ago I received a new pair. The design on the legs is modern and stylish, and the color really complements my skin tone. What I like best about them isn't either of those things, though. This is my fourth pair of eyeglasses, but it's the first time that I've purchased Transitions Lenses. I absolutely LOVE them!
What are they?
Transitions is a brand name, the actual lenses are called Photochromic lenses. I purchased Original Transitions, which are clear when I'm inside, but darken when exposed to sunlight. If it's a cloudy day, they turn gray. When it's really bright, they turn black.
Why Did I Get Them?
I needed a way to protect my eyes from the sun, so I looked at my options. Taking off my glasses and putting on sunglasses doesn't work for obvious reasons. Clip-ons are great, but what if I forget them at home? Transitions lenses are a lot more convenient.  I have the vision I want, plus full protection from the sun's harmful rays.

There are two other types of Transitions lenses, Transitions XTRActive and Transitions SOLFX. To find out which type suits you best, visit: www.transitions.com

The Incredible NOOK!

As you might have guessed from the title of my blog, I am an avid reader. When my bookshelf couldn't hold another paperback, my parents agreed that it was time for me to get an e-reader. They surprised me with the Barnes & Noble NOOK Simple Touch e-reader for Christmas. I was thrilled, and plan to use it until it breaks.
There are so many e-readers out there, so it's hard to decide which one suits you best. What I like about the NOOK is the fact that it's lightweight, displays crisp text, and (My favorite part!) you can borrow books from your public library. I was also excited to find that when you own a NOOK, you have access to a free sample of pretty much any e-book available from Barnes & Noble. While some books only allow the reader to preview the first 10 pages, other samples let me read to page 50! The NOOK Simple Touch comes with free Wi-Fi®, making it easy to connect to the Internet. In only a few minutes, you can curl up and enjoy a new purchase.
